Parent Volunteers

The Football & Cheer programs are completely dependent upon parent volunteers to make each week run smoothly. Therefore, you are the key to the success.

Here are the parent volunteer requirements:

  • Volunteer 10 HRS per child. 25 HRS maximum for multiple children for the season. Subject to change based on number of registered players. 
  • Volunteer positions are in 2-hour shifts.
  • Volunteer check for $300.00 payable to GSJG and postdate the check November 1 2025.


It is your responsibility to sign-up, complete your hours and make sure they are recorded. If you do not sign-up within the first 2 weeks we will assign the leftover shifts to you to cover your hours. If you do not complete the required volunteer hours your deposit check will be cashed on November 1st.

Schedule and sign-ups for the 2025 season will be made available as soon as the schedules are finalized. 

 

Head Coach & Assistant Coaches

Coaching positions are available to parents who will attend all practices and all games. The amount of time required by a coach is approximately 10 hours per week throughout the season.

Applications for the following positions are still being accepted: 

8U Head Coach
10U Head Coach
12U Head Coach
14U Head Coach
8U, 10U, 12U, 14U Assistant Coaches


MANDATORY COMPLETION FOR ALL COACHES:

  • Badging - Must complete fingerprinting and background. Badge information will be requested after Coaching application is approved. 
  • CDC Training - You will need to complete the online CDC Concussion Training. Email certificate to [email protected]. Link to online course. https://www.train.org/cdctrain/course/1089818/

Responsibilities of head coaches and assistant coaches include:

  • Supervise players; establish a positive and respectful relationship among the coaches & players.
  • Attend pre-season coaches’ meetings and affiliate league meetings as required.
  • Cheer coaches are required to attend 2 additional Sunday cheer competitions.
  • Attend each practice, game and team functions arriving prior to the team and staying until each child has been picked up. Attend coaches meetings as required.

Golden Sierra Jr. Grizzlies Board of Directors Volunteer

The Board of Directors is the Governing membership of GSJG and will be made up of parent volunteers. They are responsible for the smooth operation of the association, all League Affiliation, and Financial decisions.

Current vacancies include but are not limited to:
Snack Bar Manager
Volunteer Coordinator
Fundraising/Sponsorship Coordinator
Game Day/Equipment Manager
Website/Media Manager

All approved members of the board will undergo and pass a criminal background check including live scan fingerprinting and must be badged by SYF. 

Each position with in the board has specific duties as outlined in the GSJG By-Laws, in addition is the the expectation that every member of the board agree to the SYF Code of Conduct and the following Expectations of participation:
  • Attendance at the regularly scheduled meetings is mandatory for all Board Members.
  • Attendance at all Home Games for all scheduled games and events is expected. Every effort will be made to accommodate time away from board duties to watch your child participate. With the exception of emergencies, all absences from home games must be discussed and approved by the chairman.
  • Any member who cannot attend a scheduled meeting shall notify the Secretary or Chairman.
  • Any Board Member who misses three of any five consecutive meetings may be replaced by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote.
  • Be ready to talk knowledgeably and intelligently on a topic.
  • Be open-minded and attentive.
  • Treat everyone with courtesy and respect. No negative yelling at or belittling of other Board Members.
  • Follow the rules of debate and obey the rules of the organization.
  • Attack issues, not people!!! Respect the rights of others.
  • Abide by the final decision of the majority vote.
  • Bring in or recommend new members.
  • Participate in committees as requested or needed. Respect the opinions and rulings of the committee.
  • Positively promote and enhance the organization’s growth and reputation.
